Palio di Settembre

Palio di Settembre is a new event scheduled from September 10 to 12, 2021 in Negrar di Valpolicella. It is already two years that the traditional “Palio del Recioto e dell’Amarone” which takes place during Easter festivities is cancelled because of the restrictions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. For this reason the Municipal Administration has pushed to create this new event in the middle of the harvesting period.

The idea is a new festival that re-proposes the atmosphere of the famous Palio but in a new formula and at a different time of the year.

“From September 10 to 12 we will celebrate the first edition of this new festival and, if the experiment works, we will make it another annual event to be included in the program of wine promotion of Valpolicella, in addition to the traditional Palio. Also for this event the historical wine cellars of the area will be present, which have been producing for years with love and dedication excellent wines recognized all over the world” says Councillor Camilla Coeli.

It is an event for the Valpolicella wines lovers, not only Recioto, but also Valpolicella Classico, Ripasso, Amarone and 100% Corvina.

The stands of the historical wineries will be in the center of the village, in Via Mazzini and however there will be not only wine tastings but also tasting of typical culinary products of our area. In fact, a wide range of food and wine will be available through the original proposal of Food Truck Gourmet and local restaurateurs.

As a side dish, there will be the traditional craft market and the stands dedicated to typical products from different Italian areas. The area with the markets will be in Viale Vittorio Emanuele and will be characterized by a careful selection of exhibitors, with different culinary specialties, handmade products and local crafts.

The entrance to the event will be free, but limited in relation to the current provisions on the containment of the pandemic COVID-19. There will also be the possibility to guarantee your participation by filling out the appropriate form online at www.paliodisettembre.it.

Access to the area of the event will be allowed only to holders of green pass and it is essential to respect the rules essential for the protection of the health of all:
👏 Frequently sanitize your hands with the appropriate sanitizing gels located in the event area
😷 Take off the mask only when sitting at the table or during the tasting
🔛 Keep a distance of at least 1 meter from the table
🤒 Do not go to the event with a body temperature higher than 37,5 degrees

Winetasting in the cellar

During the days of the event Fratelli Vogadori winery will be open with tours and guided tastings. These are the tastings already scheduled

Saturday, September 11 10.45am – 3.30pm
Sunday September 12 10.45am – 3.15pm
