Open cellar in harvest

Also this year we will open for “Cantine Aperte in Vendemmia” (open cellar in harvest). We will start with a walk in the vineyards because for a good wine you need a good grape. It is really important to cultivate the vine respecting it and respecting the environment, which is why we do not use herbicides or pesticide and no chemical fertilizer: and in the vineyard you can see it!

Harvest in Valpolicella

September is the month of harvest: the bunches of Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella, Oseleta and Negrara are ready to be harvested. Every cluster should be checked and only the best ones will be placed in a boxes for the “Appassimento“. This technique is used for Amarone and Recioto. You will then be able to see the differences between grapes and we can show how toe harvest!

Amarone Harvest

This is the best time to visit Valpolicella: the colors, the scents and the festive air surrounding the vintage! When you explain the grapes, we will enter the fermentation area where the secrets of the fermentations will be revealed explainend the natural yeasts, the replenishment and the differences between Recioto, Amarone the wine born by mistake and 100% Corvina. During this period fermenting the grapes of Valpolicella and in the air will breathe the scent of must. In the barrels area we will talk about the aging and in the small Forlago bottaia we will show you the barrels used for our best Amarone, the Amarone Forlago! During our visit we will appreciate our wines: Amarone, Amarone Forlago, Recioto, 100% Corvina , Valpolicella.

Harvest in Verona

Obviously you can also buy the wines you will taste. I remember that we also have Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Amarone Grappa and Wine Vinegar. Possibility to sleep in the rooms beside the cellar!
