We are now ending the harvest 2020: after the manual selection in small boxes of the best bunches of Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella, Oseleta and Negrara for the Amarone 2020 we are now harvesting the grapes to be pressed already now for the Valpolicella Classico 2020.

The harvest 2020 began than 2019, we started the selection already in the beginning of September. And the first three weeks were characterized by good weather and almost summer temperatures. At the end of the month, temperatures dropped down ten degrees due to a disturbance, here the summer ended and autumn started!
The quality of the grapes is decidedly good and, once again, the hilly part of Valpolicella remained unharmed by the hail and promises excellent wines perfect for long aging.
We remind that the hill is the most suitable area for the cultivation of vines, guaranteeing a superior quality of the grapes. This is very important for wines such as Amarone which can be stored in the bottle for many years.

The grapes for Amarone Forlago have also been selected, although it is still early to say if there will be Amarone Forlago 2020 (the harvest is only the first step of a long way before to be bottled. Fermentation and aging take long time and a forecast can happen. For now, let’s keep our fingers crossed).I remember that Amarone Forlago is our best wine produced only in the best vintages.
An Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG produced from grapes selected in the vineyard in the Forlago area, a one-hectare vineyard of pergola Veronese. Produced only in the vintages 2004, 2008, 2011 and 2013 .
Anycase you are wellcome to check together how the drying of the Amarone 2020 grapes is proceeding and obviously to taste our wines already in the bottle or spend a few days in our rooms!
In our wine shop you will find all our wines, grappa, oil, vinegar and Essenza!
